Trip to Africa

Leslie Chupp, MD and Elizabeth Ojeda, RN traveled to Uganda in July with Mercy Trips, an Odessa nonprofit organization that takes free, short-term medical clinics to underserved countries. While on their trip, they visited remote villages in the Western provinces of Africa and performed surgery at Karugutu Hospital. They even learned to make the local staple, Chapti bread, from one of their cooks.
